We continue our examination of the course readings. Goodson and McNeil will provide two very different takes on curriculum.

Modernity: Progress, Optimism, Rationality, Absolute knowledge, Meta-narrative, grand narrative
Structuralism: interest is not what texts are about, but how they work.

Tyler's Four Questions of Curriculum Design

1. What are the purposes of the school?

2. What educational experiences are related to those purposes?

(What content, processes and methods are you going to use to deliver instruction and information?)

3. What are the organizational methods which will be used in relation to those purposes?

4. How will those purposes be evaluated?
